A 14-year-old boy from Ioannina, Greece, has been successfully extubated after being admitted to the Pediatric ICU following excessive alcohol consumption in the presence of relatives. The boy is responding well to medical stimuli and is expected to be evaluated again today for possible discharge. He was initially transported to Ioannina University Hospital in a semi-comatose state before being transferred to the Pediatric ICU in Patras.
