A 16-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder and serious harm against priest Fr Paul Murphy in Co Galway. The charges stem from an incident at a Defence Forces barracks. The teenager, whose identity is protected due to age, has been returned for trial at the Central Criminal Court after a brief hearing where a book of evidence was served. The boy is currently remanded in custody, with bail applications to be considered by the High Court.
