2024 Marks Record Heat Year in China, Hottest Since Record Keeping Began

Meteorological data indicates that 2024 was the hottest year in China since record keeping began 60 years ago, with national average temperatures reaching 10.92 degrees Celsius, over 1 degree higher than in 2023. The data revealed that all ten warmest years recorded occurred in the 21st century. In Shanghai, the year also set a record with an average temperature of 18.8 degrees Celsius, the highest since records started in 1873.
