Fifty years after the tragic mining disaster in Liévin, which claimed the lives of 42 miners, families remember their loved ones with ceremonies and a new documentary. The event will include the unveiling of a commemorative mural, a film screening, and tributes from descendants of the victims, including personal accounts from Michel Vandenabeele, who lost his father, Paul, in the disaster. The documentary aims to ensure that the memories of the miners are not forgotten and will air on January 16, 2025.
