A building collapse in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s commercial capital, has resulted in at least 13 fatalities, with over 80 individuals rescued. President Samia Suluhu Hassan reported that the incident occurred on Saturday morning at a four-story structure in the Kariakoo market area. The government is providing medical treatment for the injured and will assist with burial costs. Building collapses in Africa are often attributed to poor construction standards and lax enforcement of regulations.
