UNESCO Condemns Russian Attack on Historic Odessa
UNESCO has condemned a large-scale Russian attack on Odessa’s historic center, which has been recognized as a World Heritage site since January 2023. The attack resulted in damage to around twenty buildings, including historical, religious, and educational structures. At least eight people have died and 39 others have been injured in the recent missile strikes. A UNESCO delegation has arrived to assess the damage and assist in protecting the affected buildings. The organization emphasizes that such attacks violate international law and offers support to the victims.
