Roblox Introduces Messaging Ban for Users Under 13 to Enhance Child Safety

Roblox has decided to prohibit children under the age of 13 from sending direct messages within its platform as part of a new initiative to improve safety for young users. Parents will have control over their child’s messaging capabilities and can monitor their activity. The changes will gradually roll out starting Monday and will be fully implemented by March 2025. Roblox’s Chief Safety Officer, Matt Kaufman, acknowledged the challenges of identity verification but emphasized the importance of keeping all users safe.
