A serious accident involving a cable car at the Val Thorens ski resort in Savoie occurred on November 19, 2024, during challenging weather conditions at an altitude of over 3,000 meters. Two workers were gravely injured but their lives are not in danger. The cable car was transporting 16 workers when it hit the arrival station. Four others sustained minor injuries. The local prefecture has activated a crisis management unit to coordinate emergency services for the victims.
