French Newspaper Ouest-France Ceases Publication on X Amid Concerns Over Misinformation
Ouest-France, one of France’s largest regional newspapers, has announced a permanent halt to its publications on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. This decision follows a growing trend among European media to distance themselves from the platform since its acquisition by Elon Musk. The newspaper’s management cited the lack of a conducive environment for proper journalism and the need for stricter moderation against misinformation and harassment as key reasons for their withdrawal.
