Birmingham Remembers: 50th Anniversary of the IRA Pub Bombings

Memorial services are set to honor the 50th anniversary of the 1974 IRA pub bombings in Birmingham, England, which claimed 21 lives and injured over 180. The official memorial service will occur at the ‘Tree’ sculpture, and a minute’s silence is requested to remember the victims. The attacks remain the deadliest on British soil post-World War II until the 2005 London bombings. Despite fresh inquests confirming the involvement of the IRA, the actual perpetrators have never been identified.
