Measures Implemented on Lemnos to Contain Sheep Pox Outbreak

Following the detection of a suspected sheep pox case in a livestock unit on the island of Lemnos, local authorities have implemented preventive measures. Apostolos Koutsogiannis, the Prefect of Lemnos, indicated that laboratory results are pending but expressed confidence that the cases are indeed sheep pox. Restrictions on the movement of livestock from the island have been imposed, and farmers are urged to report any signs of illness in their herds to veterinary services.
