Return of Roman Marble Head to Thessaloniki Archaeological Museum

The Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki received a Roman-era marble head, returned from the University of Münster in Germany. Culture Minister Lina Mendoni emphasized the significance of repatriating cultural artifacts to Greece, calling it an issue of national importance. The marble head, dating around 150 AD and featuring the characteristics of Emperor Trajan’s time, is now permanently displayed alongside similar portraits. This marks the second repatriation from Münster, enhancing international cooperation and the fight against illegal trafficking of cultural goods.
