Donald Trump Selects Pam Bondi as Attorney General Following Matt Gaetz Withdrawal
Donald Trump announced Thursday that he has chosen Pam Bondi, a former Florida Attorney General and part of his defense team during his 2020 Senate trial, to head the Department of Justice. This decision came shortly after Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz withdrew his candidacy for the position. Trump remarked that the DOJ had been weaponized against him and other Republicans for too long. Bondi, 59, also previously contested the results of the 2020 presidential election on Trump’s behalf.
