Completion of Egnatia Motorway Concession Expected by 2025
The concession agreement for the Egnatia Motorway with GEK TERNA-Egis, valued at €1.35 billion, is expected to be finalized in the second quarter of 2025, according to the preliminary budget submitted to Parliament. Key pending issues include upgrading and approving the safety of 39 tunnels and managing free passes. The 35-year agreement encompasses financing, operation, maintenance, and exploitation of the 658 km roadway, which includes projects such as upgrading the Thessaloniki-Evzoni route to a motorway, with no new projects planned for Epirus.
