Concerns Over Staffing Shortages at Hospitals in Pyrgos and Amaliada
The recent visit by representatives of the Hellenic Communist Party to the hospitals in Pyrgos and Amaliada highlighted severe staffing shortages, notably the lack of permanent doctors. The General Hospital of Amaliada currently has only 13 permanent doctors instead of the 43 required, with many being reassigned to other facilities. Similarly, the Pyrgos Hospital faces a critical shortage of internal medicine specialists, with only two available, relying on temporary staff from other regions. These circumstances raise concerns about the quality of healthcare services provided in these institutions.
