Ukrainian Institute Analyzes Russian Drone and Missile Remnants to Support War Crime Investigations

In Kyiv, a military research laboratory is analyzing fragments of Russian drones and missiles to understand enemy tactics and gather evidence for potential war crimes. The institute, led by Oleksandr Ruvin, catalogues various weapon remnants and identifies non-Russian components to track their origins. It collaborates with the Ukrainian armed forces to enhance defense strategies and aids the International Criminal Court in establishing a legal foundation against war crimes. Over 40,000 expert reports have been completed since 2014, focusing on ‘Crimes Against Ukraine’.
