Residents of Imathia, Greece, can now order fresh fruits and vegetables delivered to their doorsteps through the ‘Laiki Agora Elladas’ online marketplace. This initiative aims to assist those unable to visit local markets, addressing issues such as adverse weather, mobility challenges, or conflicting work schedules. Launched initially in the municipality of Alexandria, the service is set to expand to other regions. Headed by Dimitris Samaras, the initiative emphasizes the digitization of local markets to compete with larger retail chains.
