The Greek Ministry of Culture has announced the start of restoration and stabilization works on the fortifications of Kalamata Castle. This initiative, part of a broader plan to enhance the monument’s aesthetics, safety, and functionality, addresses significant issues such as aesthetic degradation, biological decay, and structural damage caused by various historical invasions and natural phenomena. The project aims to make the site more accessible and improve visitors’ cultural experiences while preserving its historical significance.
