Ukraine Reveals Fragments of New Russian Ballistic Missile ‘Orechnik’
Ukrainian intelligence introduced fragments of a purported new Russian hypersonic ballistic missile, dubbed ‘Orechnik’, to a group of journalists on November 24. This disclosure came shortly after Moscow claimed a strike in Dnipro, targeting missile component producer PivdenMach. The Ukrainian investigator Oleg stated this was the first time such debris had been found in Ukraine and confirmed it as a previously undocumented ballistic missile. Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed the missile, capable of Mach 10, was a response to Ukrainian attacks with Western missiles, with plans for its further production and use.
