A newly unveiled mural in Londonderry aims to challenge the stigmas surrounding breastfeeding, reflecting the experiences of local mothers. Commissioned by the North West Breastfeeding and Perinatal Support organization, the mural features a pixelated image of a mother breastfeeding her child, emphasizing the feelings of censorship many mothers face. Project coordinator Sinead O’Kane hopes the mural will foster community support and encourage more mothers to choose breastfeeding, inspired by a successful initiative in Scotland.
