Republican President Donald Trump has appointed Kash Patel, a loyal aide and advisor during his first term, as the new Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Patel, known for his views on the supposed ‘deep state’, is a prominent lawyer and advocate of Trump’s ‘America First’ policy. He previously worked in the Department of Defense, the intelligence community, and the National Security Council during Trump’s presidency from 2017 to 2021.
