Stellantis Announces Departure of CEO Carlos Tavares Amid Board Disagreements
Stellantis has officially confirmed the departure of CEO Carlos Tavares, whose tenure was initially set to last until 2026. A new executive committee, led by John Elkann, will guide the company until a permanent successor is named, expected by mid-2025. The decision arose unanimously from the board amid reported disagreements between Tavares and board members. Elkann praised Tavares’s contributions to the company and communicated the news to Italy’s President Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
