Rodrigue Petitot, the president of the RPPRAC, has been sentenced to 10 months of prison, which can be adjusted, by the Fort-de-France court for making threats against elected officials. After being found guilty of the charges, Petitot is currently in detention. His lawyer expressed surprise at the ruling, indicating plans for an appeal. The case involved allegations of intimidating statements made in a social media video directed at mayors in relation to political protests. The prosecution stated that the comments went beyond permissible freedom of expression.
