Delaware Judge Rejects Elon Musk’s $55.8 Billion Compensation Plan from Tesla
A Delaware judge, Kathaleen McCormick, has rejected a $55.8 billion compensation plan for Elon Musk, despite it being approved by Tesla shareholders. This decision marks a continuation of a previous ruling that criticized the plan’s approval process. Tesla announced its intention to appeal, arguing that shareholders should control corporate votes rather than judges. The judge expressed that Tesla and Musk could have proposed a fairer plan instead of resubmitting the controversial one. In addition, they ordered Tesla to pay $345 million in legal fees to the shareholder’s attorney who initiated the case.
