Family and friends gathered today in Pyrgos to bid farewell to Ilia Papadimitrakopoulos, a prominent Greek author who passed away last Friday. Known for his contributions to the second post-war generation of Greek prose writers, Papadimitrakopoulos had a diverse career as a military doctor, author, journalist, literary and film critic, and photographer. His literary legacy includes a wealth of documentation with significant cultural and historical value, which he had recently decided to donate to the Public Central Library of Veria.
