Greece Begins Compensation Payments for Farmers Affected by Animal Diseases
Greece has initiated compensation payments for farmers whose animals were culled due to outbreaks of plague and goat pox. A total of €5,685,251 has been credited to the accounts of the regions, with €4,737,569.76 designated for affected farmers. Support for citizens who suffered economic losses from restrictive measures amounted to €785,091.15. Additionally, €162,590.10 was allocated for operational expenses to manage increased demands from zoonotic disease control. Minister of Rural Development and Food, Kostas Tsiaras, highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in achieving these outcomes.
