Increase in Pensions and Support Measures for Vulnerable Groups Announced in Greece
Greek Minister of Labor Niki Kerameus announced that pensions for January will see a 2.4% increase, effective until December 23, 2024. The government will implement four favorable measures, including a reduction in social security contributions and an emergency financial aid for retirees before December 20, aimed at assisting vulnerable social groups. These initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to enhancing the incomes of citizens and addressing social justice concerns, following significant economic growth over the past five years.
