Today, at 12:00 PM, a trial is taking place in Trikala for citizens, including a resident from Volos, who participated in a major protest against AGET’s waste burning practices on June 13, 2020. The protest was met with violent repression by riot police under the orders of the Minister of Citizen Protection, Michalis Chrisochoidis. Activist group ‘Active Citizens of Volos’ condemned any attempt to silence citizens’ free speech and are calling for the acquittal of the demonstrators while holding politicians accountable for endangering public health.
