Tradition of ‘Varvara’ Celebrated in Eordaia, Greece

The custom of ‘Varvara,’ a delicious porridge made from local produce, is being observed this year by the Thracian Home of Eordaia. The dish is served to attendees of the Divine Liturgy at local churches, followed by a community gathering at the main square where the porridge will be cooked and shared with passersby. The festivities will culminate with a traditional sweet gift at a local café in the evening.
