Catriona Carey, a former Ireland Hockey international and Camogie player, faced court charges for money laundering over a three-year span. The 46-year-old from Carlow allegedly handled funds believed to be the proceeds of crime through a Wise Europe bank account. She has been granted bail and will appear again at Dublin District Court next month for further proceedings. The charges fall under the Criminal Justice Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act of 2010.
