Climate Warming Disparities: November Weather Highlights in Spain and Ireland

Recent weather data demonstrates significant regional disparities in climate warming across Europe, particularly contrasting Spain’s record warm November with Ireland’s milder temperatures. Spain experienced its hottest November in over 60 years, with average temperatures reaching 12.4 degrees Celsius—2.8°C above the long-term average—despite severe flooding in Valencia. In contrast, Ireland’s average temperature was 8.95°C, only 0.99°C above normal. Factors such as the ‘blue blob’ in the North Atlantic are believed to be moderating Ireland’s warming compared to Spain.
