Vodafone and Three Merger Approved, Creating UK’s Largest Mobile Network

The merger between Vodafone and Three has been sanctioned, forming the UK’s biggest mobile network with 27 million customers. The £16.5 billion deal is contingent on both companies agreeing to enhance the 5G network and limiting tariff increases for at least three years to safeguard customers from potential price hikes. Stuart McIntosh, chairman of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), stated that the merger is expected to enhance competition within the UK’s mobile sector, provided the proposed measures are implemented.
