Greece Extends Price Control Measures Until April 2025

Greece’s Minister of Development, Takis Theodorikakos, announced a four-month extension of price control measures, lasting until April 2025. During a parliamentary committee discussion, he indicated that current measures have led to a significant reduction in food inflation, with rates dropping from 10.4% last year to 0.8% this November. The minister stressed the importance of maintaining healthy competition and improving citizens’ disposable income. He also highlighted upcoming legislation to enhance market openness and protect vendors in local markets, ensuring they retain their licenses despite tax and insurance irregularities.
