A 47-year-old man has been ordered to be committed to the Dromokaiteio Psychiatric Hospital in Athens after killing his dog. The prosecutor and examining magistrate made this decision following the request from his attorney for a psychiatric evaluation, citing his long-standing mental health issues. While being transported, animal rights activists attempted to attack him, leading to a minor clash with police. The man is also under investigation for the deaths of seven other stray animals.
