A criminal gang responsible for a series of thefts across various neighborhoods in Athens has been dismantled, with 21 members arrested, including 14 minors. Over 48 individuals have been identified in connection to the gang, which reportedly operated mainly from metro and tram stations, targeting individuals for their jewelry. Since early 2024, they have been linked to at least 129 thefts using violence. The police seized multiple items during raids, including mobile phones and weapons. Authorities are now investigating the guardians of the minors involved to address oversight issues.
