Kyriakos Mitsotakis Visits Beirut to Strengthen Greece-Lebanon Ties
On November 6, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis made a significant trip to Beirut, Lebanon, becoming the first leader from a third country and EU member to visit post-ceasefire. His visit follows a recent phone call with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati. Mitsotakis is set to discuss strengthening Lebanon’s state structures, including the military, amidst traditional ties of friendship between Greece and Lebanon. He will also meet with representatives of the Lebanese Greek community, which has seen a decline in numbers due to recent conflicts.
