Malaysia Moves to Expel Israel from UN Over Gaza Violations

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced plans for a resolution aimed at expelling Israel from the United Nations, citing violations of international law in Palestine, particularly concerning ongoing attacks in Gaza. The resolution, which is currently under negotiation, is expected to be presented to the UN General Assembly for approval. Ibrahim stated that if approved, it would enable the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to continue assisting Palestinians in occupied territories and the diaspora. Malaysia joined a key group preparing a similar resolution seeking advice from the International Court on Israel’s obligations.
