Maurice Boland has been convicted of murdering 26-year-old Cian Gallagher in Co Waterford after a violent altercation. The jury reached their unanimous verdict after five hours of deliberation, following an earlier trial that ended in a deadlock. The incident occurred in November 2022, and Boland had claimed he acted without intent to kill. However, evidence revealed a premeditated assault. Sentencing will take place on December 16, where Boland faces a mandatory life sentence.
