Dominican Republic Faces Drug Challenge with Record Cocaine Seizure
Authorities in the Dominican Republic have announced the largest cocaine seizure in the country’s history, discovering 9,500kg of the drug concealed in a banana shipment destined for Europe. This significant haul, valued at around $250 million, was found at a port in Santo Domingo. Investigations have led to the scrutiny of at least 10 individuals associated with the port, with initial findings indicating that the bananas originated from Guatemala.
