Turkish Diplomat Feridun Sinirlioğlu Elected Secretary General of OSCE
Feridun Sinirlioğlu, a veteran Turkish diplomat, has been elected Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) following a joint nomination by Turkey and Greece. In his statement, he expressed gratitude for the support received from 57 nations and emphasized the importance of addressing ongoing conflicts, especially regarding Ukraine. Sinirlioğlu highlighted the OSCE’s potential to promote peace and stability amid serious challenges and committed to collaborating closely with member states to extinguish the ‘fire’ in the OSCE region.
