Romanian Presidential Election Scrutin Annulled Amid Russian Interference Allegations
In a rare move for Europe, Romania’s judiciary annulled the presidential election due to allegations of illicit campaign support for extreme-right candidate Calin Georgescu. Despite the annulment, Georgescu encouraged voters to turn out for the polls, asserting that voting is a fundamental right. This incident follows a similar case in Austria in 2016, which also involved irregularities without identified fraud.
