Generative AI Could Boost Ireland’s GDP by €148 Billion by 2038
A report by Accenture indicates that generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) could increase Ireland’s annual GDP by €148 billion by 2038. The technology is expected to significantly enhance productivity in various sectors, with life sciences and financial services potentially seeing gains of 20% and 30%, respectively. The public sector may benefit the most, with Gen AI capable of improving 42% of working hours. However, challenges such as a skills gap and a deployment gap must be addressed to fully realize these benefits, according to officials including Hilary O’Meara and Peter Burke.
