Hollandse Energie Maatschappij Loses Energy Supply License Amidst Regulatory Issues
The Hollandse Energie Maatschappij (HEM), now known as HollandsStroom, has lost its energy supply licenses due to concerns about its reliability in delivering energy, according to the regulatory authority Autoriteit Consument & Markt (ACM). Customers will be transitioned to another supplier to ensure continued access to gas and electricity. HEM has faced scrutiny for high pricing practices and aggressive sales tactics, leading to a refund process for former customers. While HEM acknowledges past missteps, it disputes the ACM’s portrayal of the situation.
