New Scam Targets Mobile Phone Users: NCSC Issues Warning

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has alerted mobile phone users about a sophisticated scam involving impersonation of phone company representatives. Scammers use deceptive tactics to gain access to customer accounts by asking for verification codes during phone calls. This allows them to order high-value devices and trick victims into facilitating their own losses. The NCSC advises against sharing verification codes, verifying callers, and using strong passwords to protect accounts. Victims are urged to report incidents to their mobile provider and local authorities.
