Limited Impact of SNCF Strike on Train Services Ahead of Holidays

On December 12, the SNCF announced that the strike would have minimal effect on train operations, with normal service for TGVs and slight disruptions for regional trains. Unions CGT-Cheminots and SUD-Rail will initiate an indefinite strike on December 11 in response to proposed changes, including the division of the freight subsidiary and increased competition. While CFDT and Unsa have suspended their strike call after reaching an agreement for job security, CGT and SUD-Rail remain dissatisfied, citing insufficient guarantees for employees. Limited participation was observed in a previous strike.
