Greece Implements Parental Control Platform for Children’s Internet Use
The Greek Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Sofia Zacharaki, announced the government’s initiative to create a parental control platform aimed at protecting children under 15 from the dangers of unchecked internet and social media use. The platform will allow parents to restrict access to specific websites and monitor their children’s online interactions. Zacharaki highlighted the dual threat of digital addiction and isolation, urging that banning social media altogether is unrealistic, as children can find alternative platforms. She also noted technology can be leveraged as an ally against misuse.
