She emphasized that decisions must align with the current situation in Syria, which remains uncertain. Though affecting a small number of applicants, McEntee expressed hope for a resolution in the coming weeks. Several European nations, including Britain and Germany, are also reviewing asylum requests from Syrians, while Austria plans to deport some back to Syria.
