Travis Timmerman, an American man who had been missing since February, was discovered near Damascus after being released from a Syrian prison. He was detained while attempting to leave Syria seven months ago. Following the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, he described being freed by armed men and expressed initial fears but noted a lack of resistance upon exiting. Despite the notorious conditions in Assad’s prisons, Timmerman reported being relatively well-treated during his incarceration.
