Gruesome Discovery in Guanajuato: At Least Five Dismembered Bodies Found in Abandoned Vehicle
Authorities in Guanajuato, Mexico, discovered at least five dismembered human bodies inside an abandoned vehicle. The bodies were found in plastic bags stacked in the back of the car in the municipality of Salvatierra. Sources indicate the death toll may rise to seven. A nearby message claimed responsibility for the gruesome act on behalf of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, which is engaged in violent territorial battles with the Santa Rosa de Lima gang. Guanajuato has seen the highest murder rates in Mexico this year, with over 3,746 homicides recorded.
