Woman Awarded £36,000 After Harassment at Work Christmas Party
Fernanda Hermosilla, an employee of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission, has been awarded a total of £36,000 after reporting unwanted physical contact by a colleague during a Christmas party. Following a formal complaint by a witness and an internal investigation, Hermosilla found the disciplinary process unsatisfactory. She received £21,000 from the colleague and £15,000 from the Commission, which acknowledged her distress. The case raised concerns about the handling of workplace harassment and the policies in place to ensure a safe working environment.
